In recent years electric cars have become more and more common, and the question of which electric car to buy is becoming more and more common.
With new European directives, regulations to reduce CO2 emissions, the inflation of raw materials (copper, aluminium, lithium, etc.) and problems in the supply chain, it is becoming more and more obvious that the way forward is to convert to an electric car.
The most obvious advantage is price, as converting a small city vehicle with an electric car conversion kit can be the same or less expensive than an unlicensed electric car.
And if we don't look at the price, the fact of giving less work to our planet earth and making a real use of the circular economy is the most important reason.
By buying an electric car we will have promoted the manufacture of a car from scratch, with the consequent waste of energy and resources, while by converting it with a conversion kit, we will be recycling and reusing a car that would otherwise go to the scrap heap.
We are now ready to offer our first "homologated car kit in Spain"(and in Europe), in this case for the legendary Mini classic. And more homologated kits will follow the Mini: VW Beetle, Seat 600, Seat Ibiza, Renault Kangoo, ...

The kit will be tested, homologated and ready for distribution in 2023.
And what does this approved kit consist of?
The kit is equipped with a three-phase electric induction motor of 18 kW sustained power and 35Kw of maximum power. Air-cooled and weighing around 50Kg, it will be able to develop a maximum torque of 150Nm.

The brain of this kit will be a 108V controller with a sustained output current of about 250A, air-cooled, making it easy to maintain and with a power capability of up to 55Kw and an energy efficiency of 98%.

The batteries for the prototype will be a 10Kw lithium battery pack with a charger (final battery pack to be determined), more than sufficient for urban use for the Mini.

It also has a dc-dc to 12V converter so that the auxiliary battery continues to power lights.

And all the other extras such as signal wiring, high voltage cable to make the conversion very easy without the need to add anything else, a console with all the information of the Mini (led aesthetic or Mini aesthetic).

The entire drive assembly is fitted to the Mini's subframe, so mechanical installation is a simple step of replacing the old subframe with the new one from the kit. Workshops will appreciate the ease and speed of this operation.

What will the homologation process for the kit be like?
Well, it's as simple as that: you won't have to do anything. The kit will be distributed with the homologated conformity reports (including the batteries homologated with the R100V2), which will be enough with the certificate of the workshop that installs it to go to the ITV and update the Mini's technical data sheet.
The Mini will be a similar vehicle, weighing exactly the same (about 650 kg), with its four seats and running on electric power, which will make it possible to obtain the ZERO label without any difficulty. Of course a silent drivingmore fluid, with regenerative braking and ready to continue to be driven by many more years.
