Democratised conversion... Result of the survey on the favourite model.

As many of you know, for the conversion of vehicles to electric vehicles to be viable and economical in Spain, several vehicles of the same model have to be converted. This means that by grouping together several interested parties, we can reduce costs in components, batteries, homologation and design.

This is the result of the survey on the 9 most desirable models to convert.

  4. Which of the models weighs the least?
Why is it so difficult to legalise electric cars in Spain? Is it possible to import an electric car in Mexico? Do you know if it could circulate here in Spain?

  5. Good morning, I would like to know about the homologation of a specific car model: the Suzuki Samuray.
There are many Samurays in the Canary Islands, where I live, and I would like to know if there is an owner group that dares to move to an E-Samuray.
    thank you
    Michele

  6. I would like to convert two vans to electric.
    1 Opel vivaro combi long
    2 Vw transporter

I would like to know how we can do this in a way that is legal.
    Thank you

    1. Hi, I have the short Vivaro, have you made any progress with your research? I'm interested in this subject, but I'm not in a hurry as I'm convinced that time is on our side.

  7. Hi, my favourite model for conversion to electric is Renault 4 "cans".
It is the third most manufactured car in the history of the automobile.
In Spain it has been a vehicle used in all sectors and with very good results.
Its simple and economical mechanics made it a safe and reliable choice for the mobility and transport of goods.
Personally, ever since I can remember my passion for this model of car, I have never wanted another one.
So today I own two: my father's and my father-in-law's.
They work as the first day. Never refurbished, reliable machines for daily use and I hope it will be like this for a long time.
Hence my interest in converting them to electric and being able to continue using them without compromising the environment and leaving a good memory for future generations.
    Best regards .

  8. Hello,
n my opinion, a car of which there are many and which could be included in this list is the old Mercedes A-Class.
    Greetings

  9. I would like to convert my 1971 Citroen dyane 6 to an electric car and would like some help, because I have little or limited knowledge of mechanics and electricity or of a company that converts them.
    Thank you

  10. Hi, I'm curious about a 1.6 or 1.7 lada niva electric. Is it far-fetched? If not, I would particularly prefer it without a gearbox, like a normal car.

  11. It would be convenient to go to more current models from the year 2000 for example to not have to change half a car, apart from the conversion, also more current equal to comfort and more attractive design.
    Greetings to all

  12. hello
how can i add a saab 9-3 cabrio year 1998-2002?

  13. Hello, thank you very much for all the information you have provided, which is of great interest to me.
I voted for the Seat Ibiza.
I look forward to the development and conversion possibilities of this model.
    Best regards

  14. Hello I have a citroen cx and I want to recondition it to electric.i would like to know steps to follow and costs

  15. I would like to electrify a '78 Jaguar xj6. It would be great to be able to homologate it and be able to enter Barcelona, and also with a 0 emissions label.

  16. Congratulations !!!! But my ideal car for a conversion would be the Audi A2. The first Audi with aluminium chassis, small... ideal for the city. I would love one like that.
    Congratulations to all of you

  17. Hello.
Of course, it is the most environmentally friendly option, not to scrap but to reuse.
Is electrification of a 2001 Terrano II possible?
    What would be the investment?
Greetings and thank you for your work.

    1. Yes it is possible, but 4×4 and heavy vehicles are more expensive and technically more complex, so there is less interest in it.
      Best regards

  18. My favourite car to electrify is the first one I had: a second generation Seat 127, like the one you have converted. You guys are crack. Thanks and best regards.

  19. Must be current, light, safe and lightweight models from 2001 onwards (new bcd plates).
    Mini One / Cooper
    Peugeot 107/C1/Aygo
    Fiat 500
    Twingo II
You can always look for one for 2000-3000€ or even for 1000€ with a broken engine and the rest working.
    Best regards.

  20. Good morning, I have an opel combo petrol van with an opel corsa mixed engine and the longest journey I make to work is about 40km one way plus 40km return and I would like to convert it to electric with a range of about 100km, could you please provide me with information, thank you.

      Best regards

  22. Good evening friends I request help to be able to convert a gas car FORD BRONCO II engine 6 cylinders 2.9 in V to electric, that you recommend me I am from Peru, thanks for your help.

  23. Hello I have a peugeot 404 of 1968 is 1.6 petrol and I want to know to convert it to electric.it seems good option for the large engine capacity and boot that has apart the walk that has and the suspension.thank you, I would like to have information.

    1. Hello Borja, please contact us via the contact form for specific questions about your vehicle. Best regards. Thank you.

  26. I have a 83 lada niva, I have seen today that in Germany they have used the niva for an electric conversion kit (Elantrie) and that the conversion does not exceed 3000€.
Can we get this kit in Spain?
    And another question
If you bought a converted Niva in Germany, could you bring it to Spain and make it legal?

    1. Surely you can get the kit, but I doubt that the 3000€ is very realistic. If you bring the converted Niva to Spain, to import it, the ITV will ask for the documentation that supports the conversion, so I guess they will want a report of conformity from the German laboratory.

      1. It will probably be in parts and workmanship done by them and it is clear that in this matter workmanship is the key.

  27. Good afternoon,
Follower of the theme, I have several classics that could be converted.
    How are you doing?
    Are you active?

    Greetings to all

    1. Hello, yes, if you contact us through the contact form and tell us about your project we will see how we can help you. Best regards

  28. Hello I have a Mini One 2001 ... the statistics of the minis refers to the old classics R53? In my case crankcase, radiator to be changed ... thinking of a retrofit ....

    1. Hello, yes, they are classic Minis, although there are also quite a few interested in the Mini One.

  29. Ah I also wanted to ask how it affects converting a medium sized 4×4 or even a large Cherokee type vehicle.
    Price ?
    Stronger batteries ? A stronger engine ?

    1. Yes, indeed a larger vehicle will need a more powerful engine, more batteries and of course it will be more expensive. Best regards

  30. Good, I am interested in being informed to change a bmw320 diesel in electric, the most important thing and what interests me most is if you take care of the homologation and how much I can get out and of course that autonomy would have, thanks.

    1. If you are interested in converting it, please contact us through the form and we will add you to the BMW 320 group.

  31. Hello

If you have to vote on the previous models, I prefer the Seat Ibiza.

  33. I think a suzuki Santana would be easy to fit; it has a lot of space under the bonnet and is longitudinal, apart from being made in Spain. I suppose that the issue of not paying council tax on a classic would still apply?

    1. Because municipal taxes depend on each municipality.

      Best regards

  34. Good afternoon.
How much would it cost to convert a 2009 Mini Cooper R56 120hp to electric?
    Thank you for everything.
    Best regards.

    1. Hello Pere,

It is difficult to know the final price of a particular model without having done the design of it, right now we are working on the classic Mini.

For individual conversions or to join the group of conversions of your model, send us a message (if you haven't already done so) to the form on the web site Contact Elektrun Cars and we write you down and answer.
